The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Provide mentorship for assigned application development project teams
• Test, install, debug and document development of software applications
• Create artifacts for all components of software applications
• Provide problem solving services on application software to business analysts and customers
• Develop testing procedures and quality assurance plans for software applications
• Establish programming standards and best practices
• Establish quality assurance testing standards
• Promote use of programming and quality assurance standards for application developers
• Stay abreast of evolving development technologies and adopt key practices to continuously improve software applications
•Research and conduct proof-of-concepts to validate the applicability of innovative approaches and new technological tools
• Bachelor’s Degree in technology related field or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
• Five (5) years of experience as a Programmer, Developer, or Software Engineer
• Five (5) years of experience working with Object Oriented Programming Languages
• One (1) year of experience preparing or maintaining SQL Data Models
Background must include:
• Collaborating with other software developers, business analysts, and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain desktop and web-based applications built on Microsoft technologies
• Experience in Front-End UI development using scripting languages (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, etc.)
• Ensuring the quality delivery of solutions, utilizing test-driven development and automated testing
• Experience creating specification artifacts based on user requirements
• Experience interfacing with third party middleware or applications
• Experience creating applications using services and microservices, including reusable components and frameworks
• Experience in the development of user stories, estimates, and work plans
• Proficient with Microsoft .NET 4.5.x Framework
• Experience with Relational Databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
• Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
• Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
• Previous success working with an Agile development team
• Experience creating reports using SSRS, Active Reports, or other reporting tools
• Experience participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
• Experience with paired programming
• Experience with API/REST/XML
• Experience with single sign-on or directory authentication/authorization development
