This job takes a lead role and uses specialized knowledge and expertise to implement, maintain, monitor, and ensure performance of SQL Server platforms. The key services provided by this lead role will be database availability, database capacity planning, database performance, database recoverability, and implementing upgrades or installation of new, more complex components, if required. These services will be provided by performing proper DB maintenance including indexing, statistics optimization, backup recovery tasks, and database monitoring. This job will be a part of a team providing overall databases services throughout the organization, and will mentor less experienced team members. This role will be operational, with some opportunities for development work (TSQL) tuning procedures and performance, and working to apply best practices and reduce the amount of reactive work by performing proactive tasks as well as configuring alerting to identify issues before they impact the customer population.  5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, AlwaysOn is a nice to have.
