Strong Knowledge of PostgreSQL, PGSQL and data modeling The ability to respond to Implement and maintain database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.
Work closely with other team members to implement effective and maintainable database coding practices that form the architectural foundations of a data warehouse.
Develop a consistent and maintainable data model that has the ability to expand based upon new business requirements.
Build effective API’s that access and manipulate large datasets working with end users, other developers, DBA’s and data scientists.
Deep level troubleshooting ability.
Identifying problems in advance and looking for continuous process improvements.
Participate in problem management and come up with solutions when the need arises. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize and execute on assigned deliverables.
3+ years working as a database developer working with PostgreSQL
Expert Level SQL, PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON.
PostGIS proficiency and grasp of core geospatial concepts.
Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy or security.
Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levels
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds
3+ years of Data Modeling experience
Experience with NoSQL databases (Mongo) and NoSQL support in PostgreSQL
Experience working BI Tools (ie Cognos Qlik Looker)
Experience with message queuing, full text indexing, and other high performance data concepts.
Demonstrable experience working with large, interdependent, complex datasets and data structures.
