1. Assists with the assignment of projects and helps direct staff work activities
2. Assists with the assignment of on-call rotation
3. Assists with the coordination of schedules with customers and technicians for meetings, project activities, and maintenance
4. Serves as an additional customer escalation point for issues or service requests
Service Delivery
1. Demonstrates, models and reinforces the agency's fundamental values of fairness, cooperation, respect, commitment, excellence, honesty and teamwork
2. Provides high quality and professional customer service
3. Coordinates with vendors and service providers to resolve technical support issues
4. Administers, maintains and enforces appropriate security and access to computer systems, network resources and communications systems
5. Administers SQL server database and instances
6. Ensures overall health and availability and quality of services
7. Works with supporting platforms to manage existing capacity and to plan for future needs
8. Gathers, analyzes and presents data from systems to support customer billing, assist in rate forecasting and facilitate decision making for the systems supported by the platform
9. Supports disaster recovery efforts for those systems subscribed to a disaster recovery service
10. Systems Maintenance
11. Applies patches, hotfixes, service packs, and other upgrades to maintain systems at supportable levels
12. Monitors database and application performance for reliability, security and quality assurance
13. Ensures data is sufficiently protected and available for restore when required.
14. Research and Planning
15. Keeps current with industry trends and practices
16. Verifies that proper capacity and configurations are in place to support current and anticipated needs to include working with Windows teams to procure sufficient capacity
17. Works with other agency platforms and groups to accomplish technology-related initiatives
18. Researches, analyzes, recommends, designs, tests and implements new technologies and services to deliver cost-effective and technically efficient solutions to internal and external customers
19. Assists leadership in establishing objectives, setting goals and establishing unit priorities
20. Evaluates product enhancements to ensure continuous product improvement
21. Assists leadership on technical and project-specific initiatives
22. Work with project management teams to facilitate large initiative planning
23. Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze technical requirements
24. Internal Processes & Support
25. Follows all established database processes and procedures
26. Develops documentation for SQL Server support processes, systems and procedures
27. Participates in the change management process
28. Tracks time for Professional Services billing purposes
29. Provides second level technical support assistance to internal and external customers
30. Facilitates product purchases and maintenance renewal efforts
31. Maintains security, confidentiality and availability of systems
32. Monitors Service Desk ticketing system and responds appropriately based on published time expectations
33. Must be available for on-call and/or overtime duties as required
34. Participates in Computer Security and Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) events, where required
35. Develops quality control methods for ensuring platform output meets standards
