• Responsible for physical database architecture and design, development, performance tuning, implementation, and support of the applications from a database perspective.
• Define and implement database, SQL standards and best practices.
• Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
• Review contention for CPU, memory, network, and disk resources and come up with the remediation plan.
• Identifying, reviewing and resolving Deadlocks and blockings.
• Identifying and .resoling all the DB related long running jobs.
• Ensuring database security, integrity, stability and system availability.
• Work with large volume, heavy load databases
Conduct T- SQL Code Reviews to ensure coding standards, best practices and avoid potential performance issues.
• Ensure the all the Security patches is applied as per the defined time line.
• Tracking of DB EOL’s/ EOS product version and have the implemenation plan in place for the upgrades or migrations.
• Reporting (on daily basis) tracking and immediate closer for all the Critical and High DB alerts.
• Proactive Capacity planning and resource optimization of all Database Infrastructure.
• Perform In-place /cross platform/ cross Database migrations.
• Maintain the latest security patches/Vulnerability FIX.
• Provide the Outage reports.
• Provide RCA (with 5Why or Fish bone methodology) with the complete preventive measures for CRITICAL and HIGH priority incidents/Applications.
• Monitor and maintain system health and security
• Design backup/recovery processes for server and associated data.
• Ensure Regular DB Backup (as per agreed schedule) and recovery is performing.
