JOB DETAIL

Job Description :Good understanding of the Teradata database, related utilities and tools. Basic understanding of the database Architecture. Hands-on experience working on Teradata database native tools/Scripts [Teradata Viewpoint/FastLoad / Multiloading/ FastExport/ BTEQ/ TPT] Hands-on experience monitoring database Jobs [ Backup, Maintenance] Basic understanding of Alert Logs and trace files to understand the database critical events. Monitor the availability of the Database events like DB availability, Instance availability and the space availability of disk drives and file systems Monitor the logs files, transaction logs and backup logs. Monitor the database related activities, respond calls from the Application support and developments teams. Monitor the backups, recovery errors, respond to the request regarding the restoration of the DB Monitor the metric alerts, performance related issues like high CPU utilization, high Memory utilization Acknowledge the request for DB stop/start, user creation and grant specific data access to user Installation, configuration and maintain Teradata database software Database Upgrading, Migration and Patch (fix bug) Teradata database software Perform initial level of database performance tuning Perform database refresh non-prod with production environments Verify all instances are up & working Look into new alert log entries and checking for any errors Verify the success of the Database backup Check table space usage Deploying scripts and bug fixes provided by Application team Checking if there is enough disk space for the data files to grow Monitoring database tickets generated in ITSM tools and escalating to next level [L3] (1.) To provide support for on call escalations and doing root cause analysis of given issue (2.) To independently resolve tickets within agreed SLA of ticket volume and time (3.) To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies (4.) Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update and management, Training freshers, coaching analysts (5.) To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions or Reopen Cases
