We are seeking a talented, highly motivated Data Engineer with proven experience in design, development, and extended analytics. With a specific focus on our analytics platform utilizing some of the most sophisticated models in the industry. Our technological platform is constantly evolving as we apply new and emerging technologies to our expanding business.  The Risk and Underwriting Tools team manages the applications at the heart of risk and underwriting strategy and supports a global userbase.  The nature of our business demands high levels of agility, which in turn requires our team to be technically superior. Design and develop data solutions using our existing tech stack which includes AWS, SQL Server, SSAS, Power BI, and Dremio to name a few, to best serve the business.

Evaluate new data solutions and technology.

Developing software, automated tests, documentation, and related processes to meet and exceed the requirements of stakeholders.

Configure and deploy cloud-based data solutions to AWS and Azure.

Work with stakeholders to establish, refine, and document application functional/non-functional requirements for new and existing applications.

Collaborate cross-functionally with delivery managers, product owners, QA, and other engineers to achieve high quality solutions.

Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Contribute to a culture of innovation and agile development best practices.

Data modeling and analytical database design

Experience optimizing and scaling cloud data storage in AWS.

Experience designing big data solutions.

Experience working with Data Lakes

Microsoft SQL Server database design/development experience (T-SQL).

Experience developing ETL processes that scale with large data sets.

General problem-solving mentality, with the ability to pick up new technologies.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with different teams on solutions for a variety of different business, code, and data related problems.

Must be very detailed-oriented.

Solid documentation skills

A high level of self-motivation and capable of working on own initiative.
