Translate design specifications from the Data Architect into SQL/ETL Code and packages to move raw data from multiple, different data sources into SQL Server based staging environment.
• Apply business logic standardize and normalize the data and move it to an Operational Data Store (ODS).
• Import and export data between DPH internal systems using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and advanced T-SQL to include stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, etc.
• Assist the Data Architect in creating a consolidated, normalized, and standardized data model for all data domains/dimensions.
• Maintain code repository.
• Assist the Data Architect in documenting the new database environment (Table structure, data dictionary, ERM…)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Management, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years developing enterprise grade solutions in a managed development environment.
• Deep understanding of database concepts, data domain concepts, security concepts, and Normal Forms.
• Designing relational databases and creating data models.
• Developing SQL scripts and Stored Procedures.
• Experience working within Linux and Microsoft environments.
• Working experience with Microsoft Development Suites like Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio incl. SSIS, SSRS and TortoiseSVN.
• Documenting databases using Entity Relationship Models and Data Dictionaries.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Familiarity with AWS hosting
• Familiarity with Microsoft BI
• Experience working in a healthcare environment
• Familiar with SCRUM and AGILE methodologies.
• Experience working with PHI
