•             We’re looking for a full-time Data Engineering contractor for around 3 months+ (possible conversion to direct hire) to help fulfill a backlog of work for a large utility client.

•             This person would be pair programming closely with junior Power BI developers to source data from client database systems (they will not have direct access themselves) and be principally responsible for curation, integration, and storage of that data in an accessible form suitable for BI reporting.

•             The candidate should have past professional experience coding ETL routines and designing database systems used in reporting workflows.

Senior Data Engineer Skills/Experience

Immediate tasking for this role will include:

•             Translating report data needs into database schema designs

•             Curating raw data through ETL pipelines into reporting databases

•             Assisting junior Power BI Developers with SQL queries to retrieve required data

•             Evaluating existing ETL workflows and increasing the efficiency and reliability of them

•             Developing ETL testing routines

To be successful in this role, we are anticipating a need for 5+ years of similar experience and proficiency in the following required tools and languages:

•             Python 3.x / Pandas

•             SQL and Relational Database Schema Design (Star and Snowflake pattern)

•             ETL pipelines/ workflows/ testing

•             Git

•             Jira

•             Docker

•             Airflow or similar etl database not informatica, okay if they have but would like to see other ETL Databases

•             AWS Lambda

•             AWS Athena and Direct Query Power BI Connectors
