Newly created role reporting to the Head of PMO at global financial firm in midtown NYC. This is a contract position which will ideally be converted to a permanent role. Work in office 3 days a week, and you must be fully vaccinated.

Job Description: 

·         Contribute to build the PMO team in an IT organization. This implies helping with the below:

o   Prepare/Coordinate SIT/UAT and development release of the project

o   Help/Guide project managers in the team

o   Gather information to produce weekly report

o   Improve project management processes

o   Design and maintain processes for communication with different stake holders

·         Start/Design new projects; define governance, timeline, milestones; organized kick-off meeting.

·         Design and implement standardization of project management processes

·         Manage binary upgrade projects

Profile:

·         5-10 years’ experience as a Project Manager with an IT background in a financial/trading institution

o   Needs to be someone who understands the life cycle of a trade (understanding of rates/fx derivatives is a plus)

o   Candidate needs to understand the different aspects of the business and support function in a bank; operation, risk, finance

·         Candidate must have managed multiple simultaneous projects

·         Ideally candidate has experience in IT development

        Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project

        Very good written and verbal communication skills

                      Very good organizational skills
