Project Details/Overview:
Our end client has performed a large number of acquisitions in the past 18 months, each organization has its own software & IT ecosystem. They are now aiming to have ONE organization for all processes. They want to leverage Surge/Us (their Implementation Partner) specifically for an audio/video staff augmentation project, starting as soon as reasonably possible.
 
- The interface with TokBox is owned by Vonage, who gives the capability for doctor to talk with patient.
- Will be partnering with Microsoft to use [Azure Communications Services] ACS (as used by MS Teams) -- so in the future, sessions could use either TokBox or ACS -- likely which will be determined by server conditions for each call.
- Need to build an abstraction layer -- it shouldn't matter whether session will use ACS or TokBox.
- Building the Video Call UI on mobile
- Then remove the direct integration from javascript, and native iOS and Android
- Looking to wrap WebRTC for an abstraction layer
- Currently have 2 native apps on iOS
- Products will include native SDKs for mobile
- IWA (InTouch Web Application) apps and core patient app
