Qualifications:
- Database Administrator with more than five years of experience and a deep understanding of Oracle, MS-SQL, Informix, MariaDB, MySQL and the tools and techniques used to manage these platforms
- DB Design (Physical/Logical)
- Install, Configure, Migrate, Clone, Patch, Performance Tune, Troubleshoot, Support Oracle, MS SQL, Informix, MariaDB, MySQL on all UNIX/Windows as appropriate
- Backups/Recovery using DBMS tool(s)
- Space management
- BCV environments
- Shell scripting
- 24x7 production support

Interrupt driven:
- Debug reported issues thoroughly and resolve them, including technical issues
- Research performance issues & recommend solution
- Troubleshoot database related problems
- Backup & Restore per Client including adhoc backup/restore requests
Day-To-Day:
- Ensure 100% Availability of Databases and Real Application Clusters
- Check database log, view trace file, checking for error message
- Check log file and trace file record alert and trace errors in the file
- Check invalid database objects
- Attend to day-to-day user requests
- Determine the most expensive queries of a database by generating appropriate reports
- Monitor (through the system's performance/server performance parameter) the decline in performance of the database; if any, find cause, and resolve
- Monitor the growth of the amount of data
- Maintain DR environments
- Ensure the validity of backups

- DB install

- DB upgrade to higher or latest version
- Maintain and Create Standby database using appropriate tools(s)
- Plan and schedule backups/restores
- Allocate system storage & plan future database storage requirements
