Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

•            Interview, interpret, and guide customers through understanding their information needs with the goal of delivering robust solutions that support data driven actions and decisions.

•            Recommend appropriate scope of requirements. Drive to well-informed decisions and gain alignment across the business and project team.

•            Utilize analytical skill set to think critically and creatively to translate requirements into data solution designs for semi-curated data sets, data warehouse, semantic data models, reports and dashboards. Facilitate design work with an enterprise

        view 

•            Create documentation and technical designs that include data model specifications, entity-relationship diagrams, source-to-target mapping including business transformation rules, calculated measure definitions, hierarchy definitions, and

        reporting specifications.

•            Participate in project and sprint planning.  Identify milestones, deliverables and resource requirements.  Track activities and task execution.  Coordinate work for production releases.

•            Conduct detailed analysis of various complex source systems’ data using SQL. Perform source data gap analyses on information needs. Gain agreement on action plan to enhance source system and business processes that limit our ability to

        gather

        data to support the requirements.  Analyze and document current and future business process models.

•            Conduct process and source data change impact analyses across our data applications. 

•            Build batch and real-time data pipelines and data transformations with SQL and Python data processing frameworks in Google Cloud Platform.  Develop and maintain ETL, integrated test suites, data models, and reports. 

•            Respond to data and design questions.  Be a liaison between onsite and offshore staff.

•            Participate in data quality assessment including working with business to establish business acceptance criteria, evaluate source data quality, test data applications, and coordinate UAT.

•            Follow and enhance standards including: data model management standards, requirements solicitation and documentation standards, design documentation standards and visualization design standards.

•            Perform knowledge transfer to training and communication teams. Support user deployment activities as needed. Lead stakeholders through the business analysis lifecycle and agile processes. 

•            Provides excellent customer service. Answers users’ questions and works to resolve production support issues. Supports Self-Service Reporting users with their development and testing of data and reporting deliverables.

•            Conducts other duties as assigned.

 

Job Skills

 

•            Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data curation and insights

•            Knowledge in relational database design, theories, principles, and practices

•            Knowledge of CI/CD and pipeline automation tools

•            Understanding of Agile software development

•            Demonstrated ability to create visualizations and presentations with hands-on experience in Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint

•            Strong data analysis skill set including experience defining and reporting key performance indicators

•            Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex business intelligence terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and staff

•            Ability to execute successfully in a multi-faceted environment that leverages several technologies across many data subject areas and customers

•            Excellent relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution skills to promote business intelligence understanding and usage

•            Proficient  with Microsoft Office tools required

 

Work Experience

 

•            1+ years of experience in business/data analysis or data engineering

•            1+ years of experience SQL, data transformations, data infrastructure design, and/or data validation

•            1+ years of experience in designing and building data visualizations

•            Experience in gathering and communicating complex analytical business requirements in a simple and easy to understand manner to others

•            Experience with Python is nice to have

•            Experience with GCP Big Query is nice to have

•            Experience with development and automated testing in a CI/CD environment is nice to have
