SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER - DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR 

Platform Services Operations is looking for a motivated and solution focused, hand-on Senior Database Administrator to join us to boost effectiveness and accelerate delivery flow. Based in Manassas, VA, you will be working alongside a dynamic team of Oracle DBA experts. Your team is fully responsible for the design, optimization and operations of the database environment. This DevOps team engages in the product evolution; covering software architecture, development, quality assurance, security, operations and IT infrastructure aspects.

 You will work in a truly international environment with main hubs across three continents. We have global reach and impact but operate fast as we are a relatively small company.

 What to expect in this role:

 Organize and control day-to-day database administration, deployment / management activities to include: New Database platform build, Database health data collection and analysis, database access and performance analysis.

Resolve complex problems by investigating and devising solutions for database operations. May include installations, configuration, tuning and maintenance of database management.

Interact with network services, database/software systems engineering and /or applications development in order to restore availability of services and/or identify root cause of complex problems.

Define and implement recommendations for complex issues in the area of database management systems.

Able to come On-site visit for production deployment and support activities.

Technical skills & knowledge

• Requires 5-7 years of experience in a Database deployment and operational support activities
• Experience working with the following:

o Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 12.1, 12.2 and 19c. Partitioning and multi-tenancy options on RHEL Platform

§ Knowledge on HP-UX systems is preferable.

o Exadata engineered systems and DBs hosted on RHEL platform

o DataGuard for Disaster Recovery (DR),

o GoldenGate for data replication

o Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)

o Database Vault for stricter access control 

• Knowledge of any of these CICD technology: Jenkins, Ansible, Docker
• Good knowledge of IT security, mainly in the DBA area
• Expert level in scripting languages like shell & python.
• Oracle Database 19c/12c Administrator Certified Associate (OCA) or Professional (OCP) is an added plus.
• Knowledge of TLS/SSL and configuration of Oracle Wallet
