Responsibilities:

• Architect, deploy and support performance production software on cloud server infrastructure

• Assist in the management of Capital One Shopping's infrastructure

• Modify, build, and rebuild infrastructure

• Collaborate with product managers and web developers to prioritize and plan initiatives

• Provide oversight and mentorship to junior engineers on software engineering techniques and technology

• Coordinate and scale the evolving cloud based solutions with product development teams both internal and external to Capital One

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering

• At least 4 years of experience in cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• 2+ years of experience working with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto)

• 2+ years of experience working on streaming data applications (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, or Spark Streaming)

• At least 2 years of experience with Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Spinnaker

• At least 1 year of experience leading DevOps Engineering projects or teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree

• 8+ years of DevOps Engineering experience

• 2+ years of Python scripting experience

• Experience configuring, monitoring, and scaling datastores, such as Cassandra and Elasticsearch

• Experience using modern build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Docker, etc.

• Experience with modern relational databases like Postgres, MySQL, and Redshift

• Experience with deploying clustered web services

• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with agile teams
