Education:

Experience:

•    More than five (5) years experience in advanced technical support; ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
•    Three (3) years experience in troubleshooting network system issues. 

•    Working knowledge of hardware/software, network analyzers, and network monitoring tools (i.e. Cisco Prime. SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.)  
•    Experience with Microsoft O365 Suite Administration (preferred).
•    Experience in IT project management is a plus.
•    Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience and a focus on customer care.
•    Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
•    Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
•    Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
•    Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

Position Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Technology Infrastructure, the NOC/SOC Security Specialist shall:

Essential Functions 
1.    Act as the primary technical support agent in the Service Operations Center responding to Tier 2/Tier3 network issues via phone or online, monitoring and routing service desk tickets and managing updates to the ITSM knowledgebase.  
2.    Support operations and maintenance activities, including remote monitoring and management system, respond to alerts, monitor system health and seek improvement/resolutions.
3.    Collaborate with the network engineers to monitor, analyze, communicate and resolve network issues to ensure high level delivery of service and achievement of department OKRs.
4.    Monitor, document and report cybersecurity events and incidents for analysis and continuous improvement to system safety and security. 
5.    Assist with the administration and maintenance of district enterprise solutions including VoIP Telecommunication systems and Video over IP (video surveillance).
6.    Maintain service operations center facilities management functions and coordinate with vendors to perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
7.    Monitors vendor contracts and service orders, responsible for ordering, receiving, inventory and delivery of equipment.
8.    Assist with project and system development plans as needed.
9.    Stay abreast of new versions of software/firmware, implementation of upgrades, and changes to procedures/commands to all equipment.
10.    Provide clear communication and documentation of events, processes, procedures and configuration details. Communicate and monitor compliance with change management practices.
11.    Provide sound judgment for solving complex technical issues. Including effectively communicating the problem to management with recommendations for action to resolve the issue.
12.    Identify and document key policies, procedures and governance for enterprise systems operations. 

13.    Assist engineers to perform systems performance assessments and security audits.

14.    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
