Relevant Experience

Technical/Functional Skills

5+ years’ experience levels in enterprise data & analytics architecture and design with strong knowledge in enterprise data warehouse platforms such as Teradata, Greenplum, SQL Server, or Snowflake

 

3+ years’ experience in ETL capabilities including both traditional technologies such as Informatica and Talend as well as cloud capabilities such as AWS Data Migration, Glue, Spark, and Kafka

 

2+ years’ experience in AWS cloud capabilities including S3, Snowball, EMR/ECC, etc.

 

2+ years’ experience in big data processing capabilities such as Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, and Databricks

 

Expertise in SQL and NOSQL databases and proficiency in querying relational, graph, and file-based data repositories

 

Working knowledge in BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, Qlik, PowerBI, or Thoughtspot

 

Working knowledge of data management tools such as SAP MDG, Informatica, Alation and Collibra

 

Working knowledge of data science tools such as Jupyter, Zepplin, Dataiku, MFFlow, TensorFlow, DataRobot, Python, Tibco, R, Matlab

Roles & Responsibilities

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

The Data & Analytics Domain Architect will share mutual responsibility with the Business Applications Service Line Owners for the development of an data roadmap that aligns with the overall technology strategy across a division. This role will ensure progress of a data architecture strategy and provide thought leadership in establishing the next generation of data & analytics capabilities that address a division’s business needs. This is a key role in integrating a data strategy across functions into a cohesive strategy and architecture blueprint that ‘glues together’ multiple data domains (Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc. ). The Data Architect will work closely with other Solution Architects to define this reference architecture and partner closely with projects teams and the business to identify, recommend, develop, and implement innovative data & analytics solutions and technologies that meet business requirements.

 

Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the architecture and delivery of solutions and standards in the Data, Information, & Analytics Function. Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Accountable for the currency of a multi-year roadmap for data & analytics that aligns with the overall technology strategy in collaboration with Service Line Owners and functional stakeholders
  • Develop data & analytics reference architecture and standards
  • Accountable for the facilitation, publishing or presentation of architecture and roadmaps in collaboration with Service Line Owners and their Solution Architects
  • Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Drive data deliverables in alignment with stated architecture on key division projects
  • Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end data & analytics solutions
  • Design and implement data pipelines, data models, and data semantics
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.
  • Develop logical, conceptual and physical architectural models.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies to project teams.
  • Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and initiatives.
  • Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.
  • Support business and IT strategic planning.
  • Establishes the operating and governance model for the Data Architecture including New Technology Introduction, Technology Solution Design and Technology Roadmaps.
  • Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.
  • Builds relationships across the Business and IT organization that foster collaboration and partnerships to drive better strategies, priorities and service to the Business.
  • Maintain domain level documents in an Architecture repository and tool set.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
