Data Analyst Job Description:

This professional will serve as a critical support role to Maine as the State assesses the fiscal impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across the State and uses the various sources of federal financial assistance Maine has received to address identified impacts. This initiative has elements including: research, data collection, analysis and reconciliation; and public reporting via a website.

Required Skills:

Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst

Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

Independently and effectively manages time using common-sense priority setting

Creative problem solver in using various technologies

Strong verbal, listening, and written skills

Proficient in MS Excel and Word

Preferred - Knowledge of Finance processes and government grant writing processes
