Senior DBA support to Database Operations, Service Management, & Projects
JOB DIMENSION
o Global. Job is located in East Hanover, USA supporting all Novartis regions.
o Manage database services provided by third party vendor
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Essential:
o Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics
o At least 2 year experience in database services management
o At least 7 year experience in Oracle database administration
o Strong blend of communication and technical skills working in a global team environment.
o Working collaboratively in a global team environment
o Working in cross-functional project teams
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
o Good communication (verbal & written) and inter-personal skills.
o Deep desire to expand skill set and excel in meeting business requirements.
o Ability to handle high pressure situations and quickly respond and resolve production priority problems
Desirable:
o Database adminstration in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure)
o Data Masking
o Data compression
o Database security products

SKILLS/JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE
o Installing, configuring, patching & administration of Oracle software versions 11g, 12c, 18c & 19c
o Experience in patching of Oracle binaries and databases.
o Experience in administration of Oracle Exadata X6, X7 & X8 systems.
o Experience in automating the process of Installation, Decommission and Patching of Oracle binaries and databases.
o Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) installation, configuration & administration
o Installing, configuring, patching & administration of Oracle Data Guard 11g, 12c, 18c & 19c
o Installing, configuring, patching & administration of Oracle RAC 11g, 12c, 18c & 19c
o Upgrading Oracle software version from 10g/11g/12c/18c to 19c
o Administration and Security management of databases
o Experience in designing & administration of Disaster Recovery & High Availability solutions
o Oracle 13c Grid OEM for administration, monitoring & performance analysis of Oracle instances
o Monitoring, performance analysis and fine tuning of databases
o Backup and restore of databases
o Organize / perform support and troubleshooting for database products
o Good working knowledge of Linux, AIX & Windows Operating Systems
o Basic knowledge of server/databases hosted on public cloud
