Notes
She didn't seem to be familiar with the concepts of CTEs, temporary tables, and windowing functions.
She was concerned with all the technical questions I was asking if she would be responsible for any server administration.
In my opinion, she doesn't have deep T-SQL skills for which you are looking. It seems the majority of her experience centered on writing basic queries where the data was imported to and modified in Excel. She almost described herself as an extra set of hands hired to help meet deadlines, but not for any particular expertise.
She didn't have any concept of query constructs that would be performant vs. non-performant. Her conversation focused on data cleansing that would be beneficial in reporting, such as removing NULL values from the data set or using the DISTINCT key word.
When asked how she would approach retrieving data from an unfamiliar database, there was no mention of using meta data, similar field names, or foreign keys to determine the table relationships. She spent more time describing how to collect reporting requirements from business users.
She answered questions in a rambling fashion without clearly stating the answer or asking for further clarification when she clearly didn't understand what I was asking.
