Day to day responsibilities: This Back End Developer will join our client's Data Platforms team, supporting both internal and externally facing applications. This engineer will be coding a streaming application in Scala. Roughly 50% of the role will be hands-on development. This developer will also be working on CI/CD pipelines (15% of the time), scalability and performance (15%), and the remaining 20% of the time will be spent working with monitoring/alerting tools

Project Details: working on streaming applications. They own full stack- they leverage terraform for all of their code. Will take in a message, provide business logic to enrich or enhance the data. will look at code optimizations. Looking at ways they can better monitor the apps and make them stable. Role will be working on both new code and existing code

Must Have Skills:

•             Strong background with Java development experience

•             Background creating and running applications on Java virtual machine (JVM)

•             + Nice to have experience working with REAL TIME DATA / Data Streaming for Devices

•             + Nice to have SCALA / APACHE / or KAFKA experience for DATA

•             API development / API Testing / Integration

•             + Experience with NodeJs

Nice to Have Skills:

•             Scala development; big data experience

•             Terraform experience

•             Python or Golang development experience

•             Digital Media Streaming application experience

•             Experience with Kinesis
