As a Senior Systems Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing moderately complex components of the systems infrastructure. You will evaluate and integrates software and hardware requests. You will also provide issue and problem resolution for moderately complex issues and provide instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
- Interpret end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications
- Takes a keen interest in understanding the business process and recommend solutions that effectively meet the needs of
- the business
- Code and successfully perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution as well as
- compliance to the business and technical requirements
- Work with other software engineers to design interfaces between software applications in order to complete design
- requirements
- Use system traces and debugging tools for problem determination and system tuning
- Participate in the migration of applications to quality assurance and/or the production environment
- Work with managers and team members to develop development standards
Required:
- 5+ years in web development with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Experience with 3-tier web application development technologies, such as Struts 2, Spring Framework (Spring Core,
- Spring MVC), Hibernate, HTML, CSS, and/or JQuery
- Experience creating and implementing SQL
- Must possess a deep understanding of OO design patterns
- Experience with source control systems (such as GIT, SVN)
- Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Personal drive
- Must be flexible in the face of changing priorities and requirements
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
- Experience with Agile, Scrum or similar development methodology
- Experience with utilizing and implementing the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience with Web Services (REST, JSON, AJAX, and XML)
- General AWS Cloud infrastructure
- Experience with AngularJS (5), NodeJS, or related JavaScript libraries
- Experience with Oracle database environment
- Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
- Experience with using Eclipse IDE, Maven and spring-batch
- Experience with scripting under Unix and Linux operating systems
