Senior-level Scrum master - Developer Experience Improvement Program

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 18 Months

Requirements:

• Must be a Certified Scrum Master

• 6-10 years as a Scrum Master

• Experience in technology delivery, improvement efforts, and six sigma-related process improvement programs

• Experience with Scrum methodologies, agile implementations, process improvement frameworks

• Must be an excellent team leader with the ability to influence and negotiate

• Experience using Work Tracking Tools, Atlassian products Jira and Confluence a plus

• Experience leading and facilitating large delivery scrum teams, with attention to details of schedule, risk and issue collection

• Experience with negotiating prioritization between Product Owners and Technical leadership

• Highly adaptable to a constantly changing environment

• Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse and a geographically dispersed team

• Must be self-motivated, evidence of initiative, as well as, creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems

• Must be collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with all levels of management and stakeholders

General Description:

We are looking for a highly experienced, self-driven Scrum Master, well versed in leading and organizing a delivery team in the pursuit of improving the workplace experience of the IT Developer role.

The Developer Experience program consists of workstreams that expand across the IT department, with focus on reducing challenges with software availability, onboarding, access entitlement requirements and many other improvement initiatives that support the user experience of our Developers.

The Scrum Master role will be critical to the program success, as the role must facilitate sprint ceremonies effectively, influence engagement and team collaboration. Attention to workstream outcomes, backlog refinement, sprint planning and reporting progress, risks and issues are all critical outcomes for this role.

What you are good at

• Organizing and facilitating stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings to ensure delivery commitments are completed

• Updating agile tracking systems to provide transparency using Jira

• Takes initiative to identify and remove impediments/blockers, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal

• Ensuring the delivery teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility

• Effectively reports on the progress, status and facilitates the collection of risks and issues for attention

• Maintaining process and metrics documentation

• Supporting the Developer Experience workstreams, and initiative efforts in backlog grooming and product improvement plans

• Assisting with internal and external communication to IT leadership and the development community, improving transparency, and predictability

• Effective facilitation skills that will provide the team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition and capacity management

• Facilitating discussion, meetings and conflict resolution

• Empowering the teams to self-organize

• Improve the productivity of the sprint teams through use of metrics and retrospectives, high degree of influence and persuasion in the scrum master role
