The Data Scientist at ATS will identify business trends, perform data analysis, and author data models over large complex datasets in accordance with business need.
This role will work closely with several teams to execute key company objectives for a thriving, fast-paced, SaaS company.
The Data Scientist will have a wide range of technical competencies focused on delivering commercially available applications, including machine learning, predictive analytics, database architecture, and data visualization.
The successful Data Scientist will be detail oriented, highly organized, well written, a great communicator, and able to work independently.
This position will work remotely with the possibility of some travel within the US.
Data Scientist - Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the PMO, Software Architecture, Product Strategy, and the Director of Software Development to ensure timely delivery of complex, enterprise-level data-driven solutions for the FinTech industry
- Analyze data from application databases to deliver data models, predictive analytics, optimizations, and insights into complex data
- Support and assess the accuracy of existing data architecture and data models
- Develop custom predictive modeling in accordance with business requirements
- Provide analytical insights into existing data in support of new business value
- Provide testing frameworks to test model quality and accuracy
- Develop data visualizations for non-technical users which provide clarity over complex datasets
- Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and users to drive business requirements definition.
- Provide scoping and estimation.
- Work closely with the software development team to implement business requirements gathered through analysis.
Data Scientist – Position Requirements
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Expert analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience using statistical computer languages and tooling (R, Python, SQL, etc)
- Advanced experience of a variety of machine learning and data mining techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, Random Forest, etc.) and the ability to apply that knowledge to real-world problems
- Experience working with large datasets and complex databases and applications
- A thorough understanding of best practices implementing solutions for commercially available software.
- Experience providing data visualization (Power BI experience a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Can multi-task with attention to details and deadlines
- Experience working within an Agile SDLC a plus
- Experience with and coding knowledge a plus (e.g., JavaScript, C#, HTML/CSS)
- Prior work experience in the financial services sector a plus
- Prior work experience in software consulting field a plus
