Position: Business Analyst
Location: Long Island, NY
Duration: 6+ months

Business Analyst, Financial.
This position requires collaboration with the Information Technology team in designing and collecting requirements of business applications and solutions. The successful candidate will: Bring a deep base of business knowledge skills to multiple development and enhancement projects. Under general direction, interact with stakeholders to determine, analyze, formalize and document business processes and user needs. Utilize various methods for accomplishing high-level scope definition and detailed analysis, including leading and/or supporting joint analysis and design, small group and one-on-one sessions. Interpret needs into specific system designs and document solutions for review by users, presentation to management and implementation by developers. Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of systems to serve business needs. Maintains detailed knowledge of business processes and application functionality and acts as a “go-to†resource for the project.
Responsibilities:
Work with Business/Users to define and analyze project scope/requirements.
Lead/facilitate joint application design sessions with users and IT staff.
Document Analysis and design deliverables - Business processes (as is and to be), project requirements, Traceability Matrix, Business Rules, UI flows, Wireframes, use cases, functional specifications, data dictionary, content inventory.
Document User Guide/ Administration Documents.
Work with Development team, Operations, Quality Assurance Testers.
Confirm that requirements are being met in development of the application and reports.
Validate UI design, content, demo partial build to users.
Work with project manager and business owners to ensure compliance with legislation and business needs.
Work with project team to research problems and find and implement solutions.
Knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Integration.
All analysis and design project documentation - Business processes (as is and to be), project requirements, Traceability Matrix, Business Rules, UI flows, Wireframes, use cases, functional specifications, data dictionary, content inventory, User Guide/ Administration Documents.
Required Core Competencies:
Expert Knowledge of SDLC
Strong skillset to gather requirements and document business processes
Strong communication, presentation, articulation skills
Detail oriented, team player, soft skills, can follow process by the book Special Requirements References should be provided from at least two former or current clients where the contractor has performed the same or similar work.
