•             Must-haves:

o             Strong vanilla JS

o             API integrations

o             Strong coding abilities – ability to write clear, concise, performant code.

o             No dependency on front-end frameworks (we do not use React, Angular etc.)

o             Ability to understand complex business processes

•             How will this person be using these skill sets on a daily basis?

o             50/50 – external integrations to 3rd party vendors/configuration and customizations of order management systems (all done in very vanilla JS)

o             Primarily vanilla JS development for supply chain integration

o             This position will entail ensuring coding standards and quality are maintained, communicating high level designs to the team, conducting peer reviews, as well as fine detail design work.

o             ***For the lead role – same as the developers but with additional mentoring experience.***

•             Biggest challenge:

o             Finding strong JS developers who understand how to write JS code outside of a front-end framework.

o             Rather like how it used to be impossible to find a Ruby developer who could write without using RoR.

o             Most JS developers learned the framework first, and the language second. This won’t work with the code we write.
