The Sr. Database Quality Assurance Analyst is a core member of a product delivery team. Sr. Database Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for delivering quality, well-tested ETL processes to Production. Sr. Database Quality Assurance Analyst should have extensive experience with database testing specializing in ETL processing and stored procedure testing. Must be able to work well within a team and independently. Understanding of data analysis, data modeling, database design, data migration and business intelligence solutions. Proficiency with database test automation frameworks. The Sr. Database Quality Assurance Analyst is familiar with the core business area and technology they support.

Length of Position: 4-6 months and then possible conversion or extension.
Conversion Target Annual Salary: dependent upon experience, with 10-12% annual bonus target. Please indicate candidate’s expectations in your submittal.
Position Location: This position is open to being 100% remote. Still a preference for local candidates and candidates in EST.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with the Business Analyst to produce requirements that are clear, attainable, complete and testable. Participate in estimation activities for project scope, schedule and budget.
Analyze and understand the requirements, devise a test strategy and plan that adequately covers the requirements, develop high-level test scenarios that implement the strategy, elaborate scenarios into detailed test cases. Works with product and technical teams to design unit tests, integration test, functional and smoke test, system test and acceptance tests.
Write and execute tests (manual and automated), monitor testing progress, report status, find and log defects, track defect fixes, gather and report metrics, choose when and what to re-test, collaborate with team members, monitor project progress, incorporate schedule and scope changes, shepherd the product to delivery, be responsible for quality.
Collaborate with RDNA and business teams to assess and resolve production issues.
Contribute to best practices. Help evolve the team’s tools & techniques in the areas of quality assurance and documentation.
Who We Are Looking For:
Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
Minimum 8+ years professional software testing experience and at least 5 years within Big data testing required.
Experience testing ETL processes in SQL Server and Snowflake environments.
Must have advanced level SQL (DBA level) and data analysis skills.
Strong knowledge and understanding of QA theory and methodology.
Understanding of database design and implementation.
Knowledge of mortgage insurance life cycle is a plus. Agile and SDLC experience at least 2+ years.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to create detailed database test automation scripts capable of validating schemas, data elements and advanced calculation.
Must be able to own the QA role throughout each project including but not limited to: consume requirements, write and execute tests (manual and automated), monitor testing progress, report status, find and log defects, track defect fixes, gather and report metrics, choose when and what to re-test, collaborate with team members, monitor project progress, incorporate schedule and scope changes, shepherd the product to delivery, be responsible for quality.
Maintain QA project timelines. Keep team members apprised of project status; provide timely warning of project-jeopardizing issues; anticipate and mitigate risks.
Maintain the database test automation library; update/retire existing tests.
Ability to build subject matter expertise for the databases under test and use that expertise in QA activities.
Adhere to RDNA SDLC and QA processes; participate in continuous improvement of our team and processes.
Collaborate with RDNA and business teams to assess and resolve production issues.
