Cloud Operations Engineer Systems Administrator Or Lead - 4 Years and Above

The Person(s);

- Looking for highly technical contributors

- Experience working in a high-performance, results-oriented and post-production product start up(s) or highly available and mission critical enterprise systems

- Self driven, highly motivated - can work with minimal direction

- Work with cutting edge technology in the cloud computing space

- Make architectural design decisions, solve technical problems, and make improvements to systems

- Collaborate in a “DevOps” environment where you will work closely with software developers, QA and more

- Strong grasp of automation tools and build new tools to automate and improve DevOps and development related tasks.
 

Technical Skills:

- Very strong Linux skills with various flavors.

- Very strong Tomcat & My Sql skills ( a lot of it)

- Very strong skills on coding and scripting.

- System architecture and design experience including capacity planning, security and performance, scalability and high availability.

- Solid experience with automation - Deployments, Backups and other routine System Administration activities

- Experience with all aspects of a system life cycle - starting with Deployment, Tuning, Security, Monitoring, Backups to Disaster Recovery

- Experience with high traffic large-scale applications and associated technologies

- Experience administering MySQL databases (Backup, Replication, Sharding)

- HUGE PLUS Experience creating procedures and policies that improve the efficiency of the entire team and reduces time and costs.

Scripting: Shell and Python Ruby Perl

Programming: Java Scala Python

Web & Application Servers: Apache(httpd), Squid, Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss etc.,

SQL Database Servers: MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.,

Cloud: Amazon Web Services - EC2, ELB, EBS, SQS, SNS etc., Rightscale etc

SystemOS Level Trouble Shooting: CPU, Memory, Processes, Ports, File descriptors

Monitoring Tools: Nagios, Ganglia, Zabbix, Cacti etc.,

Automation Tools : Chef, Puppet etc

PLUS: NoSQL Databases like Cassandra, CouchDB, Redis, Membase, etc.,

HUGE PLUSES: RightScale, Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Storm, Zoo Keeper

HUGE PLUSES: Log Aggregators like Splunk, Loggly, etc., using cloud resources like EC2 instances
