Data modelling & design (i.e. conceptual/logical/physical design and ability to translate to/from order management workflows/lifecycle, state machine, etc)
Solid ERD design skills (e.g. oracle sql designer & other tools)
Solid SQL skills
Extensive knowledge of key Trading workflows (front to back) for 1 or more assets (focus on Equities at a minimum, Options/Fixed Income/Mutual Funds beneficial).
Familiarity with order state machines
Solid knowledge of the FIX protocol
Solid experience of maintaining, updating data dictionaries and data governance processes.
Highly disciplined (and ideally obsessed) in documentation, attention to detail (exp. with confluence a must
