This SQL Server DBA will assist on a large project to move fromDB2 to SQL Server (on-prem.)  Tasks will consist of transferring data,performance tuning, setting up table partitioning, purging/archiving data, anddebugging issues.  In addition, the DBA may assist the internal DBA teamin daily support activities, including server/database administration, performancetuning, and handling support tickets.

Specifically, the senior-level contractor needs to have thefollowing skills and experience:

• Strong SQL Server DBA skills:  T-SQL, Performance tuning, general SQL administration, replication, creation/configuration of new databases, and automation
• Experience with PowerShell
• Experience with CommVault a plus
• Experience with performing data copies and refreshes
• Strong experience supporting business-critical production databases
• Experience performing failovers
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure
• Ability to tune complex SQL statements
• Backup/Recovery
• Alerts, monitoring, and automation
• Experience following strict change management process
• Strong planning, time-management, and communication skills are required.
