Summary of position:

The Sr. Application .Net Developer/Architect is responsible for creating and shaping product architecture and makes suggestions for technologies used throughout based on experience and research.  An expert in one or more of Convergint’s software products, works with product management and stakeholders to deliver high-level estimates contributing to long-term roadmap decisions. 

Essential Functions:

1.         Oversees and participates in the design process for application software.  Designs and develops new business software applications.  Leads one or more teams to find solutions to complex problems. 

2.         Architects C# .Net Core applications in an Azure Platform as a Service environment.  Designs, builds, maintains, and supports RESTful WebAPI microservices for integration by teams both internal and external to Convergint.

3.         Communicates within development organization to solve complex programming problems and share knowledge/learnings.  Communicates with program leader(s) or those who develop application specifications to provide suggestions for improvement and understand requirements.  Takes a new perspective to resolve problems creatively finding new solutions.

4.         Experienced in the DevOps culture at Convergint to ensure continuous integration, automated testing, and quality releases on a regular basis.

5.         Creates user interface prototypes and documents software and related code modules.  Writes code and conducts unit tests.  Reviews and evaluates completed code with the team.  Writes detailed documentation as required.

6.         Participates in Agile Scrum software development sessions and through all phases of the software development life cycle. 

7.         Designs and administers database schema (MS SQL) to meet the needs of Convergint’s growing enterprise architecture.

8.         Responsible for platform development.  Identifies effective techniques for implementing platform-independent solutions.  Independently identifies process improvements and directs the team to implement.

9.         Leads and mentors Convergint’s application developers to further their technical growth as well as within Convergint’s unique culture.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology related field
