Client: A Chicago based financial firm to hire a Senior, Python DevOps Engineer for a long-term contract position. Resources are preferred to work out of either the Chicago, IL or Dallas TX location but will also consider 100% remote candidates.
Work To Be Performed:
- Develop Programs to automate security checks and controls into the build deployment pipelines
- Develop programs to make it easier for teams to deploy their applications to environments outside of development
- Work with development, platform automation and security teams to build automation that need to be solved enterprise wide.
- Writes unit and integration tests based on chosen DevOps frameworks
- Work in the DevOps team, collaborating with other teams to deliver complex projects involving applications running in multiple systems
- Continuously improve the processes and the DevOps team using thoughtful, calculated approaches to identify opportunities, and challenge those around you to strive for perfection.
- Ideate solutions to complex technical challenges; code, test, troubleshoot, debug, and document the solutions you develop.
- Use agile software development model to produce well-designed programs, scripts, and tools required to provision, configure, and monitor deployed applications and infrastructure.
- Produce and execute test strategies, plans, and cases that cover all aspects of application and infrastructure deployment quality.
SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams to deliver shared goals.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- A deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) especially the

- [Required] Experience writing unit and integration test with testing frameworks like pytest and unit test
- [Required] Working knowledge of Terraform (Enterprise preferred)
- [Required] Working knowledge of Kubernetes & Helm
- [Required] Working knowledge of Docker (containerize applications & best practices)
- [Desired] Working knowledge of DevOps tools: GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Harness
- [Desired] HashiCorp Vault
- [Desired] Knowledge of 3 musketeers pattern (make, docker and compose)
