Verstand AI is a "remote first" decision intelligence and data product development firm that works in multiple commercial business verticals (e.g., retail, health care, pharma, finance, energy). The firm specializes in building and optimizing cloud data warehouses, applied machine learning/AI engineering, implementing data governance, and developing data-based web applications.
For its BI Analytics team, Verstand is seeking multiple business intelligence analyst/developers with expertise in Tableau and experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g. GCP BigQuery, AWS Redshift). We are embarking on a significant initiative to transform all aspects of data management services for our commercial clients including: enterprise data architecture, business intelligence and data warehousing that leverages the cloud. As a Verstand BI analyst/developer, you will be part of a team that applies advanced analytics and data mining capabilities for the benefit of enterprise customers. This role will play a significant role in the implementation and continuous improvement of our clients’ decision making systems and processes. These individuals will work closely with business stakeholders, software development and support teams, infrastructure, and security staff and will enjoy learning and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Analysis
- Develop Tableau dashboards that inform analysis and decision making.
- Partner with business teams to gather, document and maintain business requirements that will inform data modeling decisions, relevant data features and KPIs.
- Lead user story workshops for the definition of use cases, business analysis, and requirements gathering.
- Translate business requirements into process/system functional requirements and identify/assess potential data source(s).
- Deliver functional scope analysis and detailed solution design of the processes and reporting systems and partner with developers on data requirements needed to support the build of data models.
- Ensure delivery meets agreed upon requirements.
- Able to Lead or assist with end user training of business intelligence, visualization, and analytics tools.
- Execute thorough testing of enhanced or added system functionality
- Lead QA and testing efforts including the creation of test scripts and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in release management and change management initiatives.
- Participate in the construction of a strategic roadmap for business intelligence and analytics across the enterprise.
- Stay updated on Tableau feature releases.
Organization and Documentation
- Ensure project documents are complete, thorough, accurate, current and stored appropriately.
- Maintain project plans and task lists for self in an organized fashion.
- Create detailed epics, stories, feature specs that meet business criteria.
- Write and execute effective test plans and test cases, manage requirements traceability, document test results, track defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.

Minimum Experience
Skills and Education:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Business, Computer Science, Technology or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Tableau
- SQL proficiency
- Passionate about data quality and consistency.
- Strong analytic skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, troubleshoot and problem solve along with the ability to make recommendations based on analysis are extremely important.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Must be self-managed, highly motivated and have a strong drive for results.
- Must be naturally able to exert influence, drive and steer stakeholders in the right direction.
- Proven, demonstrated capability in gathering and documenting complex business and functional requirements.
- Ability to grasp concepts quickly and reduce them to practice with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Experience That Set You Apart:
- Experience with enterprise Business Intelligence platforms.
- Experience with cloud-based analytical platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
