Responsibilities:
Roles and responsibilities include managing platform development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
- Contribute as a productive member of an agile development team
- Analyze, design and implement platform specifications
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Design and implement data models
- Development and testing of software APIs
- Integration and testing with 3rd party libraries and APIs
- Development and testing of user interfaces
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and presenting these for architectural review
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in design and development of scalable production quality backend systems, good understanding of distributed systems, data stores, and data modeling
- Strong knowledge of Java - comfortable in building concurrent and distributed services/platforms
- Proficient with CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like Bootstrap, jQuery
- Work effectively in a collaborative and fun team; excellent communications skills and willingness to share knowledge with teammates
Additional Experience and Knowledge a Plus:
- Experience with javascript frameworks/libraries like JQuery and ReactJS
- Experience with Git, JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jenkins, Maven
- Experience developing web based interactive visualization tools and dashboards for real-time data
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
