Sr. Visual Designer - Web Mobile

Join the Cloud Platform UX team and be a part of designing the next generation of collaborative Cloud- based tools for our client.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Visual Designer to design screens for our flagship product A360 and to create interactive prototypes based on requirements from the UX Creative Director. A360 is a web- based design and engineering tool intended to work with the Cloud line of products.

The ideal candidate will be an intermediate to senior designer who is passionate about communicating, defending, and building consensus around visual design and its impact on the experience of an application.

As part of Cloud Platform visual design team, you will help us design and extend our current 360 platform visual framework. You will work with our high- level visual design specifications to create new application screens, visualize workflows for the development team and build prototypes to communicate interactive functionality. Where necessary, you will create detailed documentation, deliver the associated assets, and work directly with the development team to ensure a quality execution of the visual design. The visual designer will work with the Senior Visual Designers and the UX Creative Director to ensure the 360 art direction is implemented correctly in the application interface. The designer will ensure the art direction is maintained throughout the development and testing phases.

You will collaborate iteratively with Interaction Designers to design and improve the User Experience. You will work on cross- functional teams.

Process oriented communication skills:

The candidate for this position can follow established design processes, help create process flow where none exists, and have strong communication skills to express new processes to peers involved in other areas of the application development life cycle. You will be skilled at translating your design ideas to Developers for implementation in a clear and straightforward manner. The ability to explain and defend design decisions to UX management is a requirement.

You will work with the UX Creative Director to re- enforce product consistency and extend our visual design strategy through use of existing standards. You will build interactive prototypes to demonstrate and test functionality, interactions, and transitions. Knowledge of Responsive Web Design and Mobile is a plus in this role.

Qualifications

3+ years of visual design experience, with an online portfolio demonstrating work experience.

Mobile visual design experience is required.

Web design experience, preferably with web applications or transactional websites required.

Knowledge of interactive medium required.

Extremely strong visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to communicate design direction.

Ability to prototype interactions, preferably in HTML 5.

Knowledge of CSS.

Some international travel required.

Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, layout, etc.)

Possess ability to think conceptually about design

Icon design skills

Motion design skills.

Screen level interaction design skills. This is not an Interaction Designer position; it is an interactive visual design role. The focus will be on visual design with knowledge of core interaction behaviors.

Expertise using Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and other design related software. Skilled and fast at producing assets.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Spoken and written English proficiency required.

Strong presentation skills and the ability to clearly explain design rationale.

Self- motivated, able to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision.

BFA or BA degree in Graphic or Interactive Design.

Desired Knowledge/ Technical Skills

Design agency or UX department experience preferred. Bonus points if its a UX focused Agency.

Brand experience and an understanding of the intersection of brand and UI a plus.

Knowledge of 3D design tools preferred.

Any level of UX design experience is a plus (wireframing, creating workflows, etc.)

Prior experience working in a UX team is a plus.

Enterprise application experience a plus
