We are looking for an experienced technical writer to join our fast-growing organisation and help take our customer-focused services to new heights. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software product development, computer science, or engineering with emphasis on new-age AI/ML technologies. Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand. The role will report to our VP of Client Success.
Role Responsibilities
- The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and work with technical staff to ensure accuracy of product descriptions and ensure accuracy of product descriptions
- Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
- Prepare instruction manuals and articles with the main goal to communicate complex, technical information more easily
- Create, maintain and update manuals, procedures, specifications, installation instructions, training materials and other documents
- Design and establish style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet business needs
- Create, compile and deliver software development documentation packages
- Write technical documents in compliance with the company s established standards and guidelines
- Evaluate and recommend revisions to standards and guidelines
- Determine the needs of users of technical documentation
- Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
- Work with technical staff to make products and instructions easier to use
- Collect user feedback to update and improve the content
Must-Have skills
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant technical field
- 2-4 years industry experience as an effective technical writer
- Proven ability to quickly learn (High learning agility) and aptitude to understand complex topics
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience working with forward/engineering teams to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
Good to Have
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
- Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Previous software product development experience
- Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators
- Working knowledge of AI/ML/BigData products is a plus
