EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: - a bachelor's in computer science is preferred

LOGISTICS: Candidates will be working 40 hours per week. Typical hours are 9 am to 5 pm ET.

Description:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to drive the design and development of the Network Performance Intelligence (NPI) application. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or another related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Superior written and oral communication skills. 10-15+ years of experience.

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):

- experience in designing, developing, managing, and tuning big data processing pipelines

- expert knowledge of Spark, Spark Streaming

- expert knowledge of Scala

- experience leading the technical team and mentoring junior engineers
 

DESIRED SKILLS:

- hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform

- experience with Apache Storm

- knowledge of Java

- knowledge of relational databases, like Oracle

GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS:

- knowledge of python

- database developer experience

- experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

JOB DUTIES:

The candidate will be working on a Networks Systems application called NPI. This application is used for network performance monitoring.

The candidate will be responsible for the development of the NPI application. Day-to-day work will involve writing new functionality and bug fixing of the data processing pipelines implemented using spark, spark streaming, or Apache Storm.
