The Lead Software Engineer is responsible building enterprise cloud-based security solutions. They will occasionally work directly with customer to conduct proofs-of-concept and project implementations while leading the evangelization of solutions internally and externally. This role is 85% internal facing collaborating occasionally with consulting, sales, marketing; and 15% external facing working with customers and partners to implement and deploy these solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic startup

· Complete work remotely with 2-3 on-site sessions per year

· Develop application services and core analytics

· Define development practices and coding architecture that supports a secure, high performance, scalable and maintainable system with optimal resource utilization

· Promote efficient development and validation practices

· Collaborate with customer and internal stakeholders in refining the business requirements, project scope, decision-making, technical documentation

· Take ownership of the stream processing and analytics architecture, design, and development

Supervisory Job Duties:

· Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws

· Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with Human Resources to resolve escalated employee matters

Qualifications:

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in relevant field of study such as computer science, computer programming, or networking

· Certified in ______

Experience:

· 5+ years Java

· 5+ years Linux

· 2+ years Hadoop

· 2+ years HBase

· Prior experience engineering systems for Docker deployment desired

· Prior experience leading development teams in a hands-on role desired

Technical Skills:

· Strong written communication skills required

· Strong working knowledge of Clojure or Scala and functional languages

· Analytics/AI/Machine Learning skills desired

· Apache Flink or Storm development and deployment desired

Soft Skills:

· Ability to self-direct, creatively problem solve, and work and learn in a fast-paced environment

· Advanced abilities to manage and multi-task multiple competing tasks and demands and complete tasks to deadlines
