JOB DETAIL


The main goal of this position is to improve Idaho’s GIS data readiness for Next Generation 9-1-1. The position is with the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS), and will be involved with:

(1) Supporting the Idaho Public Safety and other Technical Working Groups (TWG) under the IGC-EC to support the development and implementation of standards for GIS datasets required and highly recommended for NG9-1-1.

(2) Support the Idaho Public Safety TWG in the development of best mapping practices for GIS datasets required or highly recommended for NG9-1-1

(3) Work with others on an inventory to assess the quality of NG9-1-1 required data in Idaho to set priorities, and measure progress over time

(4) Work closely with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in Northern Idaho to support data creation, and data QA/QC

(5) Communicate the need for high quality GIS data for NG9-1-1 to PSAPs in counties listed above and other Stakeholders

Activities:
Assists in designing and implementing GIS programs and projects using input from various stakeholders and continue coordinating and working with those stakeholders as project progresses. CGA designs databases, workflows and data gathering strategies as well as advise on required GIS infrastructure. GIS Analyst has extensive experience with ArcGIS Software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online and can configure out-of-the-box map applications as well as automate processes using Python or create custom applications using JavaScript. CGA has excellent communication skills to train and engage a diverse group of stakeholders.

Pre-Requisites:
Able to work independently, have excellent communication and organization skills and be able to work with stakeholders to design and implement GIS projects. CGA has a bachelor’s or Masters' degree in GIS or relevant field and 1 years or more experience with GIS or has 2 or more years' relevant experience in GIS without an advanced degree.
