JOB DETAIL

Junior or Mid-Level .Net Software Engineer for a six-month contract position with a client in Minneapolis, MN (100% remote flexible). The Software Engineer is a mid-level position and candidates should be comfortable working with moderate supervision and eventually working independently. The Engineer will need broad knowledge of Agile Scrum and SDLC software development practices. Candidates must exhibit good problem-solving skills, overall development background, and have experience performing unit testing on deliverable code. The Engineer must convey project deliverables on time, as expected, with well written documentation. As such, C# and overall .Net development background is vital. Candidates should have basic background using SQL Server, .Net Core, ASP.Net, JavaScript (various libraries/framework), and web/UI skills for Windows and web-based applications development.

 

Essential Duties

  • Perform software development responsibilities to include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Development of new applications, features, and/or enhancements
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing software
  • Conduct extensive unit testing on web, desktop, and client-server platforms
  • Assist QA with testing software and Lead or PMs with estimation/planning as needed
  • Partner with System Architects, other Engineers, and DBAs to understand and design new systems and large enhancements
  • Participate with Business Analysts and business users during the creation and review of business and technical requirements
  • Work with moderate supervision or independently to produce relevant software or testing deliverables on time and budget
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and team coordination
  • Document technical work fully and clearly
  • Communicate issues to team and/or escalate to Team Lead or Project Management

 

Technical Skills

Required:

  • Entry- to Mid-level (1-3 yrs) experience in Microsoft .Net software development skills, including:
  1. C# for desktop and web applications
  2. SQL Server RDBMS
  3. .Net Core
  4. ASP.Net
  5. Web Services
  • Web development experience in
  1. HTML/CSS
  2. JavaScript libraries and frameworks
  • Ability to follow SDLC standards and operate within Agile Scrum groups (two week sprint and release cycles)
