Qualifications for SQL server DBA

•         A bachelor's degree in an IT field or related

•         Knowledge of enterprise storage platforms such as EMC, NetApp

•         10+ years’ experience in MS SQL Server production support

•         Excellent SQL Server database administration skills in production support, project delivery or engineering capacity

•         Highly self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently in a team environment

•         Knowledge of .Net Framework and application development with C#, ASP, VB

Responsibilities

•         Automated deployment and monitoring of database systems

•         Requirement translation

•         Responsible for technical delivery of assigned projects

•         Technical mentoring of junior DBA's

•         Proactively monitor capacity of environments to predict future storage, memory, or processor shortfalls

•         Provide initial diagnosis/troubleshooting to resolve incidents

•         Independent worker capable of supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving production database issues

•         Database reporting using third party tools and/or Microsoft BI

•         Working with VMWare virtual environment

•         Collaborate with R&D teams to design data structures and processes
