The Company is seeking a proactive hands-on Sr. SAP specialist to join the Financial System & Data Analytics organization. The primary responsibility for the role is to build system functionality to record/report business activities and support the Accounting and Finance operations. An ideal candidate would have solid accounting/finance and system experiences. Reporting to the Director of Finance Systems & Data Analytics, the successful candidate must be versatile and proactive with a solid work ethic. This position provides the opportunity to grow into a manager and solution visionary who helps shape the future of the company’s technological direction. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•       Play a role in the implementation of accounting and financial systems by effectively capturing business needs/value drivers, tracing requirements to deliverables, and quality controlling delivered products throughout the system development lifecycle

•       Facilitate workshops with business partners to gather/define business requirements while providing best practices knowledge to aid the system design process

•       Translate business requirements to system solutions & evaluate the risks, feasibility and business impacts of solution alternatives

•       Document functional/technical designs and configure the system to deliver expected functionality based on business requirements

•       Perform data analysis for BI reporting, cash reconciliations, Accounting month end activities such as data transmissions across the system landscape

•       Administrate master data in SAP ECC, S4, BPC, Dolphin, Blackline, and Concur

•       Document business processes and data flows & identify opportunities for process optimizations and system enhancements

•       Define acceptance criteria for delivered solutions and quality control solution deliveries

•       Develop SAP user procedures/training curriculum and conduct training sessions

•       Effectively communicate system changes and business impacts to the end user community

•       Proactively answer support requests, troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and provide issue resolution in a timely manner

•       Develop skills and familiarity with other key Finance systems such as Dolphin, Blackline, Cash Management, Liquidity Forecast, S4 HANA, Debt Management, BPC, BI reporting

•       Stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to Accounting and Finance areas and research innovative ideas and solution alternatives

•       Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor Degree; Master degree a plus

Minimum Experience Required: 7+ years of configuration experience on SAP FI/CO

Preferred Experience: SAP certified; CPA a plus

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

•       Required skills: 7+ years of design and configuration experience on SAP FI/CO modules

•       Solid understanding of accounting/finance operations including month end closing, financial reporting, organization structure, budgeting/planning cycles, and consolidation

•       Ability to understand/track business transactions data flows from source systems to reports

•       Flexibility and adaptability – our specialist will work through solution process from business requirements collection to configurations and testing

•       Communication skills – ability to understand both IT and accounting languages and collaborate effectively across organizations

•       Analytical and problem solving skills – personal drive to tackle system issues and a desire to get to the root cause

•       Nice to have experience: SAP Cash Management, Liquidity Planner, Dolphin AP, Blackline, Concur; BI & BPC is a plus

•       Ability to work well in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision

•       Ability to influence others to build consensus and achieve desired outcomes

This position is primarily located in the downtown Houston Headquarters office.

Travel: <5% one-day trips to the operation facility in Quintana are required.
