Experience optimizing database solutions for VLDB multi-terabyte databases
Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Architecture, including Azure SQL Cloud Architecture and Concepts, IaaS, and Blob storage architecture.
Must have experience writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL
Significant experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of database environments
Significant experiencing working closely with Security Administrators and Server Administrators to combine Windows network security (Groups and Users) with SQL Server security (Logins, Users, and Roles).
Proficient collaborating with colleagues, vendors, and consultants to identify the technical requirements, assess technological options, recommend and implement technical solutions.
Strong understanding of high-availability solutions and architecture
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Expert level knowledge: General RDBMS, Database tuning, SQL tuning, Database Statistics, Database upgrades, Database Installation, Configuration and Patching including RAC
Data Replication, Database Security, Encryption, Compression and Data Masking/Redaction. Must have Transactional, Merge, and Snapshot Replication experience.
Backup and Recovery experience using both traditional SQL and immutable backup technologies.
Ensure High Availability through Availability Group, Windows clustering, and Clusterless Availability Group solutions
SQL Server Central Management Server
Powershell –administrating large scale environments with cmdlets.
Unix and Linux administration experience with strong scripting skills.
Production DBA experience with ability to work with Development teams on DB architecture and design.
Flexibility in working hours in line with project deadlines and support of system reliability
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks.
