JOB DETAIL

Responsible for the development and oversight of the PMO and program roadmaps.

Manage Complex agency IT projects

Oversees all project management activities in accordance with the project management framework as outlined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)

This includes the processes of initiation, planning, execution, communication and control, and closure

Works closely with the agency leadership including Chief Technology Officer, Deputy Commissioners, Division Directors, and agency staff to manage and execute enterprise-level projects and adhere to established project performance metrics

Required Skills:

10 Years - Experience managing large scale projects including the development of comprehensive project work plans using Microsoft Project, developing and maintaining project budgets, resource plans, risk plans, communication plans, and program management plans. 

10 Years - Significant experience with Agile, Waterfall and blended methodologies for software development for obtaining desired results.

10 Years - Experience with Portfolio Management

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI)

10 Years - Solid understanding of project management methodology to identify and communicate issues, risks and dependencies across the entire agency portfolio.

10 Years - Responsible for the development and oversight of the PMO and program roadmaps.

10 Years - Knowledge of and experience with a variety of complex technical environments and concepts of integration and enterprise architecture.

10 Years - Considerable knowledge and experience with system analysis and development methodologies, project management, cost benefit analysis, complex and diverse programming languages, multiple platforms, and operating systems.

10 Years - Knowledge and experience with the systems development life cycle and various methodologies including AGILE, data modeling and design, and prototyping.

10 Years - Ability to compile, prepare & deliver executive level presentations.

10 Years - Must be well organized and have the ability to direct/mentor/coach others to achieve goals through personal enthusiasm and commitment.

10 Years - Set clear achievable goals and manages performance against these goals.

10 Years - Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (includes presentations) and effectively manages communications by delivering the right message to the right audience in a timely manner.

10 Years - Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks

Dented training and experience to successfully complete Commonwealth PM testing (Level 2 exam) and qualification within 30 days of hiring is

Knowledge of the PMBOK� process inputs, tools and techniques, outputs

Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Desired Skills:

Experience working with VITA is preferred.

Qualified as a Commonwealth Project Manager for Category 1 IT projects (or agree to take the exam within 30 days)

Experience with VITA project management standards, protocols, procedures, and tools preferred.
