Role Overview:
The Global Consumer Care (GCC) Technical Developer Support will provide programming services for the Consumer Care organizations. The prospective candidate will assist in the planning, architecting, building and testing of technical tools to support the organizations. The Technical Developer contractor will escalate to the project business leads when a technical task becomes at risk for completing on time.
This role is charged with supporting projects and operational activities with the development of business tools. The types of decision making or problem solving required for this position are confined to the software development and business analysis disciplines. Example tasks include:
- Building VB prototypes, along with the updating of VBA scripts, that will automate the business process steps.
- Maintaining and implementing enhancements to the Excel Smart sheets that will automatically execute a series of operational steps.
- Using Tableau to create KPI dashboards and other BI solutions
- Using Power BI to systematically parse through Microsoft Word documents to create data-driven outputs.
- Reverse engineering data models from flat files.
The position is expected to make recommendations but does not require making project or business operational decisions.
Basic requirements:
- Have excellent/proficient written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Have programming proficiencies in Visual Basic, Tableau and SQL (Python experience a plus)
- Be available to work 3:00 am 12:00 pm EST Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute tactical development tasks including:
- User Requirements Gathering.
- Documentation of User/Functional/Design Specifications.
- Build of code based on User/Functional/Design Specifications.
- Update code based on user defect remediations.
- Test script development, execution and documentation.
- Reporting of project/business operations status to project managers and business leads.
- Escalate issues and showstoppers.
- Provide status reports at project/operational staff meetings.
Qualifications
- Proven track-record in development of Visual Basic macros and Tableau business process dashboards.
- 6+ years’ experience in Visual Basic macros development required.
- 6+ years’ experience in Tableau dashboard development or equivalent required.
- Experience in Python automation development or equivalent preferred.
- Business analysis experience preferred.
- Quick study who can rapidly gather, understand and document user requirements.
- Creative and positive problem solver with strong analytical skills and ability to pinpoint problems based on analysis required.
- Passion for software development, detail orientated yet able “to see the forest through the trees” required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse range of audiences required.
- Ability to work successfully independently or in collaboration required.
- Exercises good judgment.
