An experienced software developer with 5 years of backendserver solutions development with a focus on enterprise-grade database servers,ideally in a small team full-stack development environment. The candidate mustbe comfortable developing solution architectures in a business processautomation context. Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularlySQL Server, Postgres, and MySql, is required. Hands-on experience with MongoDBor equivalent noSql databases is desirable. Experience with graph databases,particularly Neo4j, is a distinct advantage. The candidate must be fluent inJavascript/Typescript and experienced in developing Node.js-based serverapplications. Experience developing Web, API, and GraphQL servers leveragingdatabases is required. Experience with React, Angular, and Nest is desirable.The candidate should be comfortable working in an Agile-based projectmanagement environment and be experience working in a typical developmentpipeline, including git version control, CI/CD tooling, VSCode IDE, anddev/stage/prod stand-ups.
Responsibilities
- Develop solution architectures that address the database-related technical requirements of our internal tooling utilizing Neo4j and the Cypher query language
- As part of a small team of developers, design and code prototype and production-ready solutions that demonstrate and fulfill required functionality with Neo4j
- Act as the Technical Subject Matter expert for the database components of the solution based on Neo4j products, the Cypher query language, and supporting libraries and plugins
- Lead and contribute to all phases of the Neo4j implementation within their projects, from inception to roll-out
Qualifying Experience and Attributes
- Ability to work independently, self-directed and remotely in a cross-functional organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Bachelor’s Degree - ideally in computer science, engineering, or other STEM discipline
- Extensive experience with database technologies and data modeling concepts, preferably with one of the leading Big Data Database & Analytics Vendors
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and developing enterprise class applications
- Hands-on development experience using Javascript/Typescript in a nodejs environment
- Experience with Java/J2EE, XML, & SOAP desirable Experience with Design Patterns, VS Code IDE, and database technologies required
- Experience with complex data analysis, data migrations, and system integration, and strong object-oriented programming skills
- Experience with functional programming, particularly Clojure, is an advantage
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience with AWS environments, particularly CodeCommit, EC2 instances, and S3 storage, is highly desirable
- Experience with personal knowledge base tools desirable, particularly Logseq
- Previous experience in a consultative role, with complex, customer-facing projects is desirable
- Experience with source control software, ideally git, is required
- Comfortable with learning new technologies and development languages as needed
