JOB DETAIL

Scope, Design, and Requirements:  Drive discussions with accountable people and contributing people that result in clear documentation of approved scope, design, and Requirements across Extract, Transform, Load and Validation.

Business Process:  Partner with each Business Process Owner to prepare BPO to produce BPO owned work products.  BPOs will need to complete requirement documents, translation table values (on an ongoing basis as new source values are identified), validation methodologies, audit packets, and ultimately signatures on completed work. 

Development of Data Migration Logic:  This person builds feature lists of required logic across Extract, Transform, Load and Validation.  This person then manages the development and unit testing of each build feature – ultimately getting sign-off on the logic performed.  Each stage will have development items everything from extract logic, staging areas, exception handling queues, reporting, and ultimately results to be signed off.  

 

Required:

 

  1. 2-4 years of experience in SAP Data Migration/ETL
  2. SQL skills required to test mapping logic and compliance with rules requirements
  3. Familiarity with SAP best practices for data manipulation and loading
  4. Must be able to work independently to cleanse and support routine review of business data
  5. HANA Data Migration experience is a plus
  6. Good communication and organizational skills preferred
  7. Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.

Initial planning and assessment phase is underway, for a duration 12 weeks; implementation to follow with potential to extend for 20 to 30 months of implementation in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

There is a first wave release in about 14 months and then another large second release 8-10 months later in Europe, followed by two more waves spaced out about 6 months apart. 

Duties:

The individual must have the ability to not only promote, but also to persuade, business and technical partners on proper data migration principles. The role requires a strong blend of business, data, and technical skills.

The role will include:

  • Work with other workstreams to plan, organize, design the new application architecture
  • Coordinate development of transformation programs and create and manage project strategy and manage interdependencies with other program workstreams
  • Establish expectations of project milestones, and establish mechanisms to monitor progress, communicate need for action by business teams, and report on health of the projects and the overall targets 
  • Manage the escalation and resolution of issues
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of business processes, work with business and technical partners on improving data integrity and quality
  • Maintain documentation on project decisions and lead effective data definition and requirements gathering meetings
  • Coordinate business process owner sign-off, and internal audit approval
