JOB DETAIL

This position is responsible for managing all Project Lifecycle phases across various projects in the business. These may include digital enhancements and applications, new online and retail products among others. This role has a heavy dependency on understanding business aspects, software development lifecycle, and data flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Management

  • Project management and execution of all key corporate, retail, technical and digital initiatives as assigned through the PMO
  • Oversee all aspects of projects – including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities and team coordination while ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget and scope defined
  • Monitor and summarize progress of projects
  • Help sponsors define the scope and requirements of their initiatives based on available skills and resources, offer alternative approaches and identify the risk vs. reward elements of those approaches
  • Understanding of available resources and skills; the ability to turn features into revenue, operational efficiencies, etc.; and the ability to discuss and determine the appropriate compromises around risk and quality.
  • Ensure that at project close out, all benefits set out at the onset of the project have been realized Support the focus on effective and efficient project execution.
  • understanding of the business drivers to all assigned initiatives
  • run projects like businesses with an understanding of the pros and cons of different approaches
  • facilitate the role as an expert in Project mgmt.
  • Understand technology landscape for software development and infrastructure services. Guide various teams to the design solution.

 

Application Management and Ownership

  • Acts as a Subject Matter expert on application functionalities
  • Act as a bridge between the product team and the software developers, understanding both sides and facilitate the discussions between the groups
  • responsible for the business delivery, functional specs, and implementation of the application.

Technical Expertise

  • internal expert and provide a consulting role in determining the best solution.
  • facilitate the conversation between IT and business
  • provide an execution framework around potential solutions
  • ensure that the discussions remain within the realm of what is realistic given the project constraints.
  • Act as an internal consultant and business manager in addition to their project management responsibilities,
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned and required

Compliance/Operational Controls/Procedures

  • Ensure all compliance/legal review and sign off is part of project planning.
  • Work closely alongside business partners to ensure their requirements are addressed and met in the project plan/charter/BRD.
  • Identify and bring forward any compliance/legal related risks while managing all projects
