1) Manage the assignment of testbeds according to priorities and needs.
2) Detailed troubleshooting of the testbed or the network being used during a test.
3) Immediate support for ad-hoc requests coming from test engineers: laptops, clients and DUT resets and swaps, remote connection setups and any other physical layer needs.
4) Maintaining the Lab Log (history of problems and solutions).
5) Lab announcements to be shared in the Wi-Fi-whole-home-test Slack channel (group channel for immediate communication).
6) Maintain, update and organize the Confluence page and the share drive with all lab information.
7) Daily update of the “Test Bed Status Dashboard”. This is a live status of who is suing a testbed.
8) Keep testbed wiring and cabling neat and labeled.
9) Maintenance and upgrades of testbeds.
10) Maintain the testbeds and all the equipment in place as close to OSHA rules as possible.
11) Point of contact for vendor support, testbed upgrades and demoes.
12) Enforcement of the Lab Rules.
13) Manage access to the labs for new hires and vendors.
14) Setup access to vendors for visits to the Comcast Center Campus, when needed.
15) Inventory and organization of Comcast and third-party devices, netbook parts and components.
16) Shipping and receiving of lab equipment and Comcast devices for testing.
17) Interaction with the organizations in charge of network upgrades and IT.
18) Contact the Facilities team to uncrate new equipment and to move any testbed, as needed.
19) Create INFRA ticket (in JIRA) to request Comcast devices for testing, and receive and distribute the units to the respective test engineers.
Skills required -
1) Experience in lab setup, management, and maintenance.
2) Knowledge of different Wi-Fi Testing setups such as OctoScope (Spirent), Cre-Cre and Candela for their troubleshooting is desirable.
3) Familiarity with DOCSIS cable modem troubleshooting.
4) Knowledge of basic Wi-Fi functionality.
5) Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
6) Packet capture knowledge.
