JOB DETAIL

Description of the Work:  At least 40% of our critical projects lack project management and business analyst support needed to ensure successful delivery. We are looking to augment our staff resources with senior-level, experienced business analysts with project management experience to address key projects on which AIM is a critical factor. Given the magnitude of these projects to advancing the City’s strategic priorities, we need agile analysts whose capabilities overlap between business analyst and project management with a strong orientation to and track records for quality assurance.

Examples of critical projects include Customer Service/311 Enhancements; the DOP transformation; Oracle Time and Labor; and the re-engineering and re-tooling HR Onboarding. In addition to outlining each project's goals and objectives, specific tasks, and what success looks like, these resources will assist with developing a project management communication plan to outline what, when, and how information will be shared at key intervals for these projects’ success.

Some of the primary duties include:

  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; and recommending actions in writing
  • Attend weekly project team meetings
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement

Work product deliverables include:

  • Project and Communications Plans
  • Technical reports with executive summaries pertaining to the health of each project and recommendations
